HOME-MADE PIZZA
Remember to wash your hands
well before starting!!!!!
Makes 1 pizza:
100g plain flour
50 cl water 5g sea salt
10g yeast
1)
Making the dough
Get a large container (a very large saucepan
will also do).
Add the ingredients in the following order:
sea salt (fine)
yeast (dissolved in warm water)
water (in the absence of tap water or water containing too much
chlorine use mineral water)
Plain flour (add a little at a time)
Knead the dough manually in a clockwise
direction for about 10 minutes until the water has been completely
absorbed by the flour.
Place the dough on a clean surface. Continue to knead the dough for
another 10 minutes until it is sufficiently firm and does not stick
to your hands.
Put the dough into a wooden or plastic
container and cover it with a clean kitchen towel and leave it in a
warm environment (about 20C) until it doubles in size and is ready
to use.
2)
Preparing the pizza
Place the dough on a prepared work surface near
the oven
Dust with flour both sides of the dough and
with open flat hands, but fingers together begin to flatten it in a
circular direction (if you want it circular obviously) from the
centre towards the edges (but do not push or flatten the edges)
until it reaches the dimension that you desire.
Add the toppings that you prefer
e.g. Chopped tin tomatoes, mozzarella, olives,
ham, and finish by drizzling the pizza with olive oil.
3) Baking the pizza
Put pizza in baking tray (unless you have a
stone oven) and then place in a preheated oven and cook until golden
beneath (temperature 250C)
