SPEED DATING: GETTING A MAN IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM

Long gone are the days in which finding love was just a matter of chance. Nowadays many of the women who concentrate on their career and gaining their financial independence find themselves reaching their thirties having been through several relationships but ending up being single. Who can then afford leaving love to chance?

More and more women are resolving to use the same determination and business approach that has served them so well in their careers. After all, they never expected to have a good career without putting effort in. Why should finding a loving and lasting relationship be any different?

The advantage of being in their thirties is that most women at that age have figured out the type of life that they want to have and the type of man that would suit their personality and aspirations. Men are evaluated from different angles, according to the type of life that the woman wants to lead. If she wants to have children, for instance, she will be looking for someone who, amongst other things, would make a good father.

So the question now is, how do they go about finding the man they are looking for?

There are different options all of which involve being proactive and not waiting around for things to happen. One of the most popular options at present in the UK is what is called Speed Dating. If there is nothing of the sort in your country, well, here's a business idea for you!

Speed Dating events are held in upmarket bars, which make a very good atmosphere. Each 'date' lasts 3 minutes. After this time the girl moves on to chatting to the next guy (or vice versa) for another 3 minutes and so on until everyone has chatted with everyone. Every person is given a score card where they can write who they would like to see again. Then people are provided with e-mail details of any mutual matches. Then it is left to the matched couple to decide when and where to meet.

The key is to keep trying and being proactive until the 'right person' is found.
